Are You in Need of Surrendering a Yorkie?

 

NC Yorkie Rescue Inc. will gladly accept Yorkies needing to be surrendered. 

 

Many of our dogs are “surrendered” to us. Surrendered means that some come from great homes but were surrendered because their elderly owner has gone into nursing care or assisted living and can no longer take care of their dog. Sometimes owners give up their Yorkies for many personal reasons such as the birth of a child, their marital situation changes; they move and can’t keep the dog at the new place. Some dogs come to us because they grew larger than expected, and whose wants and needs weren’t compatible with those of his family. Some elderly Yorkies developed medical problems that their owner could not pay for, so they asked us to help.

 

Many of the Yorkies we acquire have been loved and cherished, although some have been neglected or abused. No matter how they come to us, we will find every one a new home where they’ll be valued, loved and accepted as a member of the family for the rest of their lives. If you need to surrender a Yorkie for whatever reason, please contact us immediately. We can help.

 

Surrendered Yorkies have come to us from the following situations in the past:

 

  • Yorkies surrendered to animal shelters 

  • Divorces, marriages, new babies
  • People who have moved into housing where dogs are not permitted

  • Foreclosures on homes

  • People who can’t afford care for their pets

  • Elderly owners

  • People who have moved to another country, usually military service

 

The process of surrendering involves calling us, and notifying us of your needs. Please be honest about the Yorkie. This information will allow us to place your dog in the best foster home possible, while we screen applicants for a new home environment. Someone in your area will call you as soon as possible to answer any questions you may have about the process and make arrangements. NC Yorkie Rescue, Inc. will assure you that your dog will be placed in a loving and safe environment. All adoptive parents must go through a rigorous approval process to assure that the best new homes are found for your little one.
